Aura Effects

Aura effects for player tokens such as Paladin’s 5E Aura of Protection. When a token moves into the aura’s area of effect, bonuses or penalties are automatically applied to that character, then removed when they move out of range.

Would this aura programming also be able to be co-opted to use as an automated way of doing attacks of opportunity?
Auca, 21.02.2021, 02:44
It would be cool if at least you can "set an aura" for a token, indepently of the automation, if I have the possibility of drawing a circle (or sqare) of 15ft, for example, I can manually apply the modifier. I believe it's way easier
Nebbers, 27.03.2021, 12:49
Totally agree with this. The idea as written would be absolutely amazing, but a starting point of just being able to tie spheres to tokens would also be valuable

Extension already exists but you have to pay for it. I use it in my games.
Jiminimonka, 07.06.2021, 14:52
There is a free 5e extension as well
Ørjan Svandal, 28.05.2021, 00:50
A free extension also exist for several rulesets, see this post:
https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/showthread.php?68035-Aura-Effects-for-Pathfinder-3-5E

This extension does everything I want fantasy grounds to do with regards to auras.

It would also be useful if the aura effect areas could be any shape/size (i.e. drawn onto map), so that rooms/map areas could have effects tied to them. This could be used for 5E spells like Hallow, or for setting a "dim light" effect on an area to automatically impose disadvantage on ability checks, etc.

I’d be happy to just be able to set a visible aura to a token.
I know Roll20 can do this.
Daniel Douglas Clemens, 09.07.2022, 21:19
This already exists (as mentioned above) as a fan-based extension:
https://forge.fantasygrounds.com/shop/items/32/view

I therefor find, that this suggestion can be closed/removed.
bmos, 13.08.2022, 17:52
as the dev maintaining that extension, I'd much rather see it natively implemented!
Gavin Runeblade, 29.10.2022, 10:39
I'd rather see it implemented in Core so it is available to every game in Fantasy Grounds.
Tavis, 31.10.2022, 07:40
Me too - i'm sure the extension is great, but it doesn't work with all rulesets. It would be great to have it in Core.
Mitchell B Banning, 26.10.2022, 13:00
Hopefully the Aura can be limited so It does not go through LOS Walls so it follows the rules of the games.
bmos, 07.11.2022, 09:19
That is a great idea, Mitchell!
rhimshought, 26.10.2022, 15:23
Just gotta get that FLOOD of status messages from overwhelming the chat window.
bmos, 31.12.2022, 10:09
You can disable the messages if you go into options and scroll down to the bottom. Set it to Faction: All.

The aura extension is a little buggy, but I still like it. I have already programmed dozens of auras and added them to creatures as well. i hope that they will still work.
OneNublet, 27.10.2022, 13:29
I love aura extension, please make it available and a visible option as already suggested.
Dennis Dillman, 27.10.2022, 16:13
I love this idea, especially if a radius can be specified. Multiple auras on a token would be great, too.
Rick MacDuffie, 01.11.2022, 13:36
I use this extension in my game and every update I worry that it is going to stop working because of some silly change to the core product. Would love for it to finds its way into the core rules to ensure functionality across product updates. Very helpful extension, when core updates don't break it.
Richard Bricker, 05.11.2022, 13:09
yes please
Dane, 06.11.2022, 13:24
Yes please!
bigodad, 14.12.2022, 13:07
Yes. That would definitely would enhance our gameplay. BigO - GM
Kevin Burke, 14.12.2022, 13:58
This would be great!
Omega, 06.01.2023, 10:29
It will be cool. could also be better optimise than existing mod extension in term of performance
matt, 25.08.2023, 13:35
Yes. It's hard to play without all the extensions (including AURA's), but the performance hits, even on a pretty high-end machine are just brutal... Choosing between unplayable for lack of automation or lack of speedy performance is frustrating...
Recnal, 28.01.2023, 15:11
Please add to core software
Mark, 03.11.2023, 12:39
I would love to see it native to the Pathfinder ruleset. Any news when it could be coming?
