Save explored map areas when switching between maps

A save function for explored map areas

When exploring a map, one need to keep the tokens on the map to not lose the explored areas.
Often there is need to switch back and forth between maps (different levels) to play an adventure. When going back to an already partially explored map, the explored information are lost.

Is it possible to implement a save method that save the information about what areas already are explored?

This seems like it just should be considered table stakes for a modern VTT, but also... This really should just be considered broken in it's current state. Data loss is bad, users shouldn't be able to accidently wipe out multiple sessions worth of exploration just by dragging a token to a new map, without at least some form of confirmation or something.

My group moves backwards and forwards between areas many times. Not having it store is a major deal and I'd agree, it feels broken.

Agreed. This feels like it shouldn't be a feature request, but a much needed bug fix. We're playing Dungeon of the Mad Mage and this is beyond frustrating.

This is a critical issue to handling adventures with one map per image. Any data related to the map: drawings, objects, AoEs, etc. all need to be saved and NEVER lost.

it is a $9 extension but it works well

I think a half dozen PCs controlled by the DM called MapPinPC01, MapPinPC02, ... MapPinPC06 could be used to hold the map. This is not elegant, but I think it'd work to share viewed areas on shared-vision maps.

clarification: on map pin PC per map. So you could hold sever maps as 'open' at any given time.
